Investor Group Services launches AI advisory practice for PE clients
Boston-based PE consultancy adds dedicated AI team to advise sponsors and portfolio companies on diligence, readiness, and deployment.

Investor Group Services (IGS), a Boston-based consultancy serving private equity sponsors, has launched a dedicated AI practice with a specialized team to guide PE firms and their portfolio companies through AI adoption.
The new practice covers the full sponsor workflow: diligence on AI-exposed targets, readiness assessments at portfolio companies, opportunity identification, change management, and scalable deployment, according to the firm's announcement. That scope mirrors the way most PE houses now think about AI inside their portfolios, as both a value-creation lever and a diligence risk.
The practice lead joins IGS from Quantum Rise, where he was chief technology and AI officer. Earlier roles included SVP of engineering, data, and analytics at Advantage Solutions, SVP of data engineering at ZoomInfo, and a six-year stint at Crowe, where he served as chief data science officer.

Also on the leadership team is partner Hachem Alaoui, who joined IGS in September. Alaoui has more than 15 years of experience across strategic consulting, transaction advisory, and operational leadership, including a prior role as director of strategy and operations at B Capital Group.
IGS has historically focused on commercial diligence and portfolio operations for middle-market PE. The AI practice is a vertical extension of that work rather than a pivot: the same buyers, the same hold-period economics, with a new functional lens layered on top.
Watch for how quickly the practice publishes case work or named portfolio engagements. In mid-market PE advisory, the AI service lines that gain traction in 2026 will be the ones that can point to specific diligence calls made and specific deployment outcomes inside named portfolio companies, not just headcount.
