M3 Global Research names Tony LePage COO, adds Kantar Profiles Health and Med Planet
The healthcare market research firm pairs a senior operating hire with back-to-back acquisitions in France and Germany.

M3 Global Research has appointed Tony LePage as Chief Operating Officer and disclosed a series of acquisitions that extend its panel and capabilities across Europe, according to updates posted to the firm's news page.
The company, the market research arm of M3 Inc., separately confirmed it has acquired Kantar Profiles Health and Kantar Media Healthcare Research, Med Planet in France, and pharma-insight GmbH in Germany. Financial terms were not disclosed in any of the announcements.

The Kantar deal is the most consequential of the three. Kantar's healthcare research and profiles units are long-established panel and fieldwork operations, and folding them into M3 consolidates two of the larger HCP-survey panels under one roof. Med Planet and pharma-insight are smaller country-specific operators; M3 frames both as panel and capability extensions in their respective markets.
LePage's appointment as COO sits alongside the M&A activity rather than separate from it. Integrating three acquired panels across the US, France, and Germany is an operations problem before it is a commercial one, and the COO seat is where that integration sits.
What the deals cover
M3 Global Research sells survey-based primary research to pharmaceutical companies, medical device makers, and healthcare consultancies. The product is access to vetted healthcare professional respondents at speed and scale, plus the fieldwork operation around it. Panel size, country coverage, and specialty depth are the three competitive variables.
The Kantar units bring incremental panel members in geographies where M3 already operates. Med Planet adds French physicians and allied HCPs; pharma-insight adds German coverage. None of the press releases publish updated panel-size figures, so the combined panel scale post-integration is not yet a public number.
M3 has not published a timeline for integrating the acquired panels onto a single platform, nor has it disclosed how the Kantar Health book of business will be retained through the transition. Those are the next data points worth tracking.
