Nordea deploys Research Librarian AI tool for equity research analysts
Nordic bank rolls out internal AI platform that consolidates equity research, earnings transcripts, and financial estimates for corporate client conversations.

Nordea has deployed an internal AI tool called Research Librarian to support its Investment Banking & Equities unit, the bank said on its corporate site on 18 June 2026. The platform consolidates equity research reports, earnings call transcripts, and the bank's own financial estimates into a single interface used by Equity Research analysts serving large corporates, financial institutions, and professional investors.
The disclosure is light on technical detail. Nordea did not name a model vendor, did not quantify productivity gains, and did not specify whether the tool is built in-house or wraps a third-party LLM stack. What the bank did publish is a use case: Equity Research analysts using the platform to follow peer company developments, access large data sources, and pull material from earnings calls during live client dialogues.
One internal user, Client Executive Morten H. Kirkebøe, was quoted in the announcement describing the workflow.

"On a couple of requests, the tool quickly gives me the latest company highlights and risks, which is valuable for the strategic client dialogue." , Morten H. Kirkebøe, Client Executive, Nordea
The framing matters. Nordea is not describing a research-replacement product. It is describing a retrieval and summarisation layer over the bank's existing research corpus, with the human analyst still in the loop on the client call. That is the same architecture pattern most sell-side desks have converged on over the last 18 months: vector search across earnings transcripts and analyst notes, with LLM summarisation on top.
The bank's Investment Banking & Equities unit covers large corporates and institutional investors across the Nordics. Equity Research output sits inside that division, and the Research Librarian rollout is positioned as part of a broader AI investment cycle the bank has framed as a strategic priority for IB&E.
What to watch next: Nordea's next IB&E disclosure on whether Research Librarian gets rolled to the bank's Markets or Corporate Banking divisions, and any follow-up that names the underlying model or vendor stack.
