SEBI cancels registration of 15 investment advisers over unpaid renewal fees
The list includes Capvision Investment Advisor, flagged under the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013.

India's Securities and Exchange Board (SEBI) on Friday cancelled the registration certificates of 15 investment advisers for failing to pay mandatory renewal fees, according to CNBC-TV18. The named entities include Capvision Investment Advisor, Wise Finserv, Money India Research, and Exfinity Venture Partners LLP.
Under the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, registered investment advisers must pay a renewal fee every five years to keep their registration valid. The 15 firms did not.
SEBI's order does not release the cancelled firms from their existing obligations. They must continue to maintain records, address investor grievances, ensure continuity of client services and comply with other regulatory requirements where applicable, per the CNBC-TV18 report. The registration is gone; the liabilities are not.

The other names on the list, as reported: Hardik Mahendrakumar Shukla, Sharanjit Singh, and Tanya Gupta among the individual registrants, alongside the institutional entries above.
What the action covers
Renewal-fee cancellations sit at the administrative end of SEBI's enforcement spectrum. They are not fraud findings, not misconduct orders, and not client-harm cases on their face. The mechanism is closer to a lapsed licence than a revocation for cause. The public record here is thin by design: the source does not disclose amounts owed, whether the firms were still actively advising clients, or whether any of the 15 intend to reapply.
One name will nonetheless travel further than the others. Capvision Investment Advisor shares branding with the global expert network Capvision, which was raided by Chinese authorities in Suzhou in May 2023 in a state-security crackdown on cross-border consulting work. The India entity's SEBI status is a separate matter, tied to a domestic renewal fee under a domestic regulation. Anyone reading this as a continuation of the 2023 China story is reading in a link that the filing does not support.
